Genomics Data Core (GEN)
The Meharry Genomics Data Core (GENOD) provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive next-generation sequencing (NGS)-focused services, multi-level professional training, and consultation to support basic, clinical, and translational research.
Services:
- NGS data analysis, including analyses of whole genome sequencing (WGS), whole exome sequencing (WES), whole transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq), Chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by sequencing (ChIP-seq), single-cell sequencing, targeted sequencing data, and assembly and analysis of long-read sequencing data, etc.
- Other NGS-related services, such as gene set enrichment analysis, machine learning and applications, databases, novel data processing pipelines, and software development to enable innovative research designs.
- Consultation on NGS study design, grant proposal development, and NGS education and training.
- Amplicon-based or targeted NGS, whole-genome NGS, or metagenomics (mNGS).
Equipment:
- Dell Optiplex Windows 11 13th Gen Intel® Core™N i7-13700 (30 MB cache, 16 cores, 24 threads, 2.1 O GHz -5.10 GHz Turbo, 65 W) dedicated workstation running Linux Operating System.
- Oxford Nanopore (ONT) MinIon Next Generation Sequencer (long-read)
- Illumina MiniSeq (short-read)
