Lockett and Taylor named to National Data Science Alliance committee

Lockett and Taylor conntecting to key thought leaders

David Lockett, grant proposal development and awards management specialist, and Loni Taylor, a Meharry SACS Biomedical Data Science Ph.D. Student, are among the inaugural members Education Workforce Committee of the National Data Science Alliance.

The National Data Science Alliance (NDSA) is an Alliance of the National Science Foundation (NSF)’s Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES program with a mission to expand data science research and education at HBCUs and develop a national network of HBCUs with industry, government, and academic collaboration to transform data science discoveries into tangible societal benefits.

The Education and Workforce Committee serves as the channel for communication and coordination with other organizations on matters concerning education and workforce development. The committee also provides a forum for the discussion of data science education issues.

Lockett and Taylor join an impressive membership representing other HBCUs, higher education institutions, Microsoft, Amazon, and Salesforce.
