FERPA Policy
As a student, it’s important to understand your privacy rights under a federal law known as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). FERPA is designed to protect the privacy of your education records and give you more control over how your personal information is shared.
You can authorize others (like a parent or spouse) to access your records by completing a FERPA release form in WorkDay under the Financial Hub then click ‘create request’. Completing this document will be in effect until you decide to revoke permissions.
Without your consent, Meharry staff cannot discuss your records with family members or outside persons.
If you have concerns about your privacy or your records, you are encouraged to speak with the Office of the Registrar or Financial Aid.
