Here in the Department of Pediatrics, our mission is to educate and train future physicians who are not only clinically skilled but deeply committed to the health and well-being of infants, children and adolescents.  

At Meharry, you’ll gain a strong foundation in pediatric medicine by integrating basic science with real-world clinical application. A key part of your training takes place in our on-campus pediatric clinic, where our physician provide care to families across the greater Nashville area and teach and offer mentorship to our students.  

Through our strong affiliations with top-tier pediatric hospitals—including Vanderbilt Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, Le Bonheur Children’s in Memphis, Children’s Hospital of Alabama, Detroit Children’s Hospital, and the Mathew Walker Federally Qualified Health Center—you’ll have access to diverse, high-impact clinical experiences as part of your clerkship.
