Prerequisites
Applicants for the School of Dentistry will need to meet the following requirements.
Years of College
All matriculating students must have successfully completed at least 90 semester hours/140 quarter hours. It is highly recommended that all matriculating students will have received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited, four-year college or university prior to matriculation to the Meharry School of Dentistry.
Pre-Medical Course Work
Course Work with an average of ‘C’ or better is required in each of the following:

| English Composition | 6 | 9 |
| Biochemistry | 3 | 5 |
| Calculus or Statistics | 3 | 5 |
Additional courses strongly recommended: Anatomy/Physiology, Microbiology, and Histology/Cell Biology. Other recommended courses include: Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Pharmacology.
