NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Ashutosh Singhal, Ph.D., chief data officer and associate vice president of clinical data stewardship for the Enterprise Data & Analytics Division, has been named a recipient of the prestigious HotTopics Global CDO 100 award.
The Global CDO 100 recognizes data leaders who are transforming how organizations leverage information to drive growth, innovation, and competitive advantage. The award highlights individuals who successfully turn data-driven insights into strategic action, enabling enterprise-wide transformation and measurable business impact.
“Strategic innovations in data help uncover solutions to health disparities, advance precision medicine, and improve health care delivery and research,” Dr. Singhal said. “It is a great honor to see our work recognized by HotTopics.”
As a leader in clinical data stewardship, Dr. Singhal focuses on the intersection of enterprise data strategy, governance, and value creation. He has led efforts to migrate Meharry’s clinical data to an Azure cloud environment, develop a comprehensive data and AI governance framework, build an interoperable data ecosystem to support advanced health disparities research and analytics, and create a modern data platform to be ready for AI transformations in healthcare. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to strengthen Meharry’s internal data and AI capacity, advance institutional readiness, and build a more self-sustaining foundation for clinical care, research, and informed decision-making.
Winners of the HotTopics Global CDO 100 are peer-nominated and undergo a rigorous selection process by an independent judging panel of senior leaders from organizations such as the UK Office for National Statistics, Avertias Pharma, E.ON Next, Renasant Bank, and Morrison. Dr. Singhal was evaluated across four primary pillars:

- Leadership and Strategic Vision: Demonstrating the ability to align key stakeholders with complex data initiatives.
- Team Development: Supporting growth and positive change for internal team members.
