Join the Mehary Google Developer Community

Be part of something bigger with Google Developer Group (GDG) on Campus – School of Applied Computational Science at Meharry Medical College and the GDG Nashville Professional Chapter. Together, we are building a pipeline from student to graduate to professional, creating a continuous ecosystem of learning, leadership, and innovation.

GDGs organize and host Google-branded events, including workshops, hackathons, bootcamps, and technical sessions. This initiative creates a collaborative environment for students to explore and innovate in software development, data science, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing.

The Meharry chapter was officially approved following a competitive application and interview process with Google.

The organization fosters leadership and career development, creating pathways for students to engage with industry professionals and contribute to the global tech ecosystem.

GDG Professional Chapter

The GDG Nashville Professional Chapter is an inclusive, city-wide technology pipeline designed to cultivate a diverse community committed to advancing innovation and real-world impact. Through partnerships with other chapters—including GDG Meharry—GDG Nashville bridges the gap between early exposure and advanced professional development.

We provide access to education, hands-on experience, and strategic partnerships that empower students, career changers, and tech-curious individuals to lead in areas like digital health and software development. Most importantly, Meharry students have a guaranteed pathway to join the Nashville Professional Chapter upon graduation.
