Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church (DOC)
Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church (DOC) also known as The BLVD is a 104 year-old congregation partly founded by Meharry alum Dr. Joseph Edison Walker. This congregation of over 4000 members has two campuses in the Greater Memphis community in which it fulfills its mission and serves the city of Memphis. The Midtown Campus of The BLVD is the home of the Meharry Medical College Office of Memphis Programs. More than offering space for Meharry’s Memphis Office, The BLVD seeks to be a partner in overcoming the health disparities that plague the city of Memphis and creating a pipeline that will increase the number of black physicians from Memphis who return to serve this community. The BLVD is an excited partner with Meharry in Memphis as the church seeks to “make disciples who share the limitless love of God.”

Memphis Medical District Collaborative
We look forward to collaborating with Meharry to advance our shared goals. This partnership will add more opportunities for groundbreaking, culturally-conscious research, expanded access to quality healthcare, and educational programs that will shape the next generation of medical professionals in the Bluff City. By combining our community-focused initiatives with Meharry’s legacy of academic excellence, we are confident this relationship will foster meaningful growth and lasting change for the Medical District and the wider community.
