Scholars-in-Residence Program

In this past program, the Center for Health Policy invited nationally renowned sociologists, economists, political scientists, and health policy experts to serve in our Scholars-in-Residence Visiting Professor Program.

These Scholars-in-Residence (SIR) were an integral component of the Center as they focused on one-on-one mentorship with Health Policy Fellows and Scholars as well as faculty members at Meharry Medical College (MMC) and Vanderbilt University (VU). The SIR faculty also leveraged intellectual capital at MMC and VU to stimulate and support the careers of MMC and VU Health Policy Fellows and Scholars to expand the pool of new faculty members who are interested in impacting health policy.
