In September, students from Meharry’s School of Applied Computational Sciences(SACS) participated in the 2025 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) HBCU Making and Innovation Showcase, held Sept. 25–27 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. The program brings together innovators from HBCUs across the country for three days of learning, connection and creativity — featuring leaders from the National Science Foundation, VentureWell and AAAS.

Through innovation sessions, hands-on workshops and the Showcase Pitch Competition, students explored AI, entrepreneurship, data science and the future of STEM education. They also joined team-building activities and focus groups that helped strengthen relationships first formed in virtual classrooms.

Meharry’s School of Applied Computational Sciences is proud of its student innovators and their commitment to collaboration, creativity and community. Together, we innovate, connect, serve and succeed.
