After completing rigorous coursework in the M.S. Data Science and M.S. Biomedical Data Science programs, fifteen Meharry SACS students received their diplomas during the May 18, 2024, Meharry Medical College Commencement. The graduates included students who completed degree requirements in December 2023 or May 2024.
The ceremony was held at The Temple Church in Nashville. The commencement speaker was 1979 Meharry alumna Huda Zoghbi, M.D., distinguished service professor at Baylor College of Medicine, an investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, founding director of the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital, and researcher-in-chief, Texas Children’s Hospital.
The school also celebrated its graduates with their families during the 2024 SACS Commencement Reception. James E.K. Hildreth, Sr. Ph.D. M.D., president and CEO, Meharry Medical College and Dean Fortune S. Mhlanga, Ph.D., shared congratulatory remarks with the students.
