Meharry-Vanderbilt-TSU Cancer Partnership
Founded in 1999, Dr. Samuel Evans Adunyah of Meharry Medical College and Dr. Hal Moses of Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and in 2001, it received its first U54 funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center launched the MMC-VICC Cancer Partnership with Dr. Samuel Evans Adunyah of Meharry Medical College and Dr. Hal Moses of Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center as the Founding PIs for the partnership’s first NCI U54 grant in 2001. The program expanded in 2011 to include Tennessee State University, creating the current Meharry-Vanderbilt-TSU Cancer Partnership. The program balances focus on population science, basic research, and clinical research to strengthen and expand cancer research.
