Meharry Medical Group joined Nashville Strong Babies and the Metro Public Health Department to welcome more than 300 attendees to the 2026 Bellies, Babies & Beyond: A Celebration of Motherhood Community Education and Shower event.

Held at Nissan Stadium, this year’s event offered education, support, health screenings, a dedicated space for fathers, and an engaging “Toddler Town” for families across Nashville. Meharry Medical Group’s Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics clinics connected with attendees by answering questions and sharing resources to support current and future patients.

Dental and medical students from Meharry Medical College also volunteered, providing health screenings including blood pressure checks and dental assessments for families.

As a father of four girls, I know what it’s like to be an expectant father, and a new parent,” said Dr. Dontal Johnson, a pediatrician at Meharry Pediatrics Clinic. “I bring that perspective to every visit. I treat each child as my own, and I want families to feel like I’m part of theirs, that they can reach me anytime. I care about your child just like I care about mine.”

This marked the fourth annual event. In previous years, Meharry Medical College proudly hosted the community celebration. To make an appointment with a Meharry Medical Group physician, please visit meharry.edu/mmg or call 615-327-6348.
