Resident Applicants Policy

Medical and Dentistry Resident Applicants Policy

Each applicant for the residency program(s) within the School of Medicine and the School of Dentistry must be a United States Citizen, a Lawful Permanent Resident (“granted the right to reside permanently in the United States”), a refugee (“granted refugee status”), or an asylee (“granted asylee status”), and must provide the appropriate documentation to support the pertinent classification.

Graduate(s) of international medical schools (who are applicants to residency program(s) within the School of Medicine) must provide a copy of a current, valid ECFMG certificate regardless of being a United States Citizen, a Lawful Permanent Resident (“granted the right to reside permanently in the United States”), a refugee (“granted refugee status”), or an asylee (“granted asylee status”).

The School of Dentistry requires the residency applicant’s graduate dentistry education to be obtained in the United States, or Canada—with the exception of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency requiring all dentistry training to be obtained in the United States.
