The Scholarship Committees from each of the schools, awards Convocation scholarship funds in each school (Medicine, Dentistry, Applied Computational Sciences, Global Health and Graduate Studies). There is no application process for Convocation awards. Contact your program of study for the most updated information. The recipients of Convocation Awards are announced at the Convocation ceremony.

The THEC grant applies to Tennessee-certified residents participating in the medical and dental programs. Students must complete an application that is sent to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) for certification.

To become eligible for the grant, you must not have moved to Tennessee in anticipation of attending school, should have attended high school in Tennessee, be a US citizen, or have resided continuously in Tennessee since birth. Each additional year is contingent upon the State’s funding and the student’s satisfactory academic progress (SAP) status.
