Department of Endodontics

Endodontics is the dental specialty pertaining to the biology, pathology, and regeneration of the human dental complex and periradicular tissues, emphasizing the preservation of the healthy natural dentition.

Students are introduced to endodontic principles and treatment techniques during the D2 year, beginning with foundational didactic instruction. Didactic coursework continues through the D3 year and highlights the integration of endodontics with the biomedical sciences. Clinical training begins in the D3 year and continues into the D4 year, incorporating advanced technologies such as digital radiography, CBCT interpretation, rotary instrumentation and the endodontic surgical operating microscope.

Throughout the curriculum, students develop the ability to make informed treatment decisions grounded in scientific principles, evidence-based practice, and clinical experience. Endodontic care is presented within the context of interdisciplinary collaboration, underscoring its role in comprehensive patient management.
