The Meharry Pediatric Dentistry Clinic is committed to offering comprehensive children’s dental services in a child-friendly setting. Our pediatric dental faculty oversee dental students, pediatric dental residents and specialty trained dental assistants to assure your child’s dental health care needs are met in a compassionate, caring and safe environment. The pediatric dental residency clinic can address the dental concerns of children with advanced dental care needs.
Children can get cavities almost as soon as their teeth come in. Therefore, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children visit the dentist when the first tooth appears and no later than their first birthday. We strive to provide children with a long-term dental home.
Services
We provide a wide range of dental services for children from birth to age 18: examinations, diagnoses of dental conditions and a complete range of dental treatment procedures in a state-of-the-art facility. We provide treatment of complex dental cases including children with special health care needs or medical complications. We have multiple specialists available onsite for consultations and referrals, including sedation, early orthodontic intervention, the ability to schedule more than one child at the same appointment time and multilingual dental care providers.
Fees and Payment Plans
Our reasonable fees are approximately 50 percent lower than the average private pediatric dental office in the Nashville area. We accept TennCare and most private insurance plans as well as Visa, MasterCard, cash and check.
How to become a patient
Please call our clinic to schedule a first appointment.
What to expect at your first visit
A parent or guardian must accompany a child to their first visit. Your child’s medical history will be reviewed and discussed with you. A complete examination will be performed, and we will discuss your child’s oral health needs and the services that we can provide. Fees will be discussed at this time as well as payment options.
