Quality Enhancement Plan
SACSCOC Standard 7.2: The institution has a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that:
- has a topic identified through its ongoing, comprehensive planning and evaluation processes;
- has broad-based support of institutional constituencies;
- focuses on improving specific student learning outcomes and/or student success;
- commits resources to initiate, implement, and complete the QEP; and
- includes a plan to assess achievement.
Effective September 2025, the QEP requirement is in a “hold harmless” period while SACSCOC conducts a 12- to 18-month comprehensive review of all Standards. Institutions are not required to complete the QEP as part of the reaffirmation process. Please visit the SACSCOC website for current updates. “The QEP, Hold Harmless and Institutional Trust 1/12/2026.” https://sacscoc.org/law-or-lore-2/
Meharry decided not to submit the Standard 7.2 Quality Enhancement Plan as part of the reaffirmation process. However, a QEP topic was selected in September 2025 and is currently being implemented as a College-wide QEP Project.
“Transforming Healthcare Education with AI” is Meharry Medical College’s initiative to embed AI literacy across all academic programs, positioning the institution as the HBCU leader in preparing a future-ready health workforce.
