Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation committee
Charge, mission
The College Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation Committee coordinates assessment and evaluation efforts for both student learning and program effectiveness.
The Committee works closely with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation.
The Committee:
- Supports the college’s commitment in establishing outcomes assessment as an ongoing and integral part of its culture and emphasis on quality programs and services;
- Provides oversight, guidelines and resources for the outcomes assessment activities within the college community;
- Supports development and implementation of academic program and non-instructional unit assessment activities pertaining to SACSCOC standards of institutional effectiveness;
- Works with the Office of Institutional Research and the Strategic Planning Subcommittee to create a set of comprehensive assessment and evaluation guidelines and leads the efforts to facilitate the implementation of college-wide assessment and evaluation;
- Reviews assessment plans, instruments and reports from academic programs and non-instructional units to provide the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation with recommendations on the endorsement of the college-wide assessment;
- Prepares a summary report on significant assessment activities at the end of each academic year and offers recommendations for the next year; the summary report shall be submitted to the Provost for approval shared with the Office of Institutional Research and the Strategic Planning Subcommittee as well as academic programs and non-instructional units;
- With the assistance of the assessment coordinators, maintains a log of college-wide assessment activities, especially those actions taken in direct response to assessment findings;
- Provides consultations to academic programs and non-instructional units on assessment matters by individual or a group of members of this College Institutional Effectiveness Committee;
- In collaboration with the Center for Academic Success and Achievement and the Office of Faculty Affairs, recommends faculty development programs on the implementation of college-wide assessment;
- Guides the development of the college’s assessment website with the support of the Office of Information Technology; and
- Meets at least quarterly.
