About the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Accreditation
The Meharry Medical College (MMC) Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation (OIEA) provides oversight, guidance, education and support for all accreditation activities MMC. The OIEA reports to the Office of the Provost and assists MMC programs with ongoing maintenance and compliance with accreditation standards and requirements. The president of Meharry has ultimate responsibility for the accreditation of the college’s programs.

Mission
Aligned with Meharry Medical College’s mission, the OIEA leads and facilitates the college’s continuous accreditation, planning, assessment and evaluation efforts to enhance the quality of its programs, processes, services and operations.
We strive for excellence in accomplishing the goal of continuous maintenance of accreditation for the institution and all programs as a standard way of operating by completing the following strategic objectives:
- Lead, guide and provide oversight for institutional and program accreditation functions.
- Utilize best practices to plan, direct, educate and provide oversight of:
- institutional and program evaluation,
- assessment of student learning and outcomes, and
- integration of an effective quality improvement system throughout MMC’s academic programs and student support services.
- Facilitate the integration of data and information into institutional decision-making, policy development, budget creation and planning processes.
