Division of Finance
The Division of Finance oversees five departments that, collectively, ensure that the financial resources of Meharry Medical College are distributed, accounted for, and reported accurately. Led by Cynthia Clemons, MHA, senior vice president and chief financial officer, the Division’s responsibilities extend to on-campus services such as housing, postal and printing needs.

Student Financial Services
- Federal and campus-based student loan programs
- Student Account Receivables
Office of the Controller
- Financial accounting and reporting functions, including payroll, procurement, accounts payable, property management and grants/contracts
- Compliance regarding College, state and federal requirements, guidelines and laws
Financial Aid and Scholarship Management
- Assist with reducing financial burden for all students/families to have educational accessibility and affordability through federal, grants, external, third-party servicers, and scholarship funding programs
- Process funding programs to help cover the cost of attendance (COA) for educational expenses, including tuition, fees, books, and living expenses but are subject to change year to year
- Provide one-on-one financial coaching, budgeting tools, and debt management workshops to students/families to bring awareness to long term indebtedness and to become a conscious borrower.
