Incident Status Definitions
The following status terms are used in the Campus Hazing Transparency Report to describe the disposition or current status of reported incidents. These designations are for reporting purposes only and do not imply a finding of responsibility.
- _SR/JR: Student or judicial referral for review through the College’s established conduct process.
- _CBAO: Incident resolved by the arresting officer with no further enforcement action.
- _SMC: State misdemeanor citation issued.
- _JSA: Juvenile student arrest made in accordance with applicable law.
- _CBRO: Incident administratively cleared by the reporting officer.
- _PD/DA: Prosecuting authority declined to pursue charges.
- _PRV: Prosecution could not proceed due to the victim’s decision not to participate.
- _Active: Incident remains under review, investigation, or pending administrative or judicial action.
- _Inactive: Incident has concluded and no further action is anticipated.
Reporting Limitations and Transparency Notice
Reports received from Campus Security Authorities are often submitted to the Meharry Medical College Department of Campus Safety and Security with limited information. This most commonly occurs when reports are made anonymously or when disclosure is restricted by applicable federal privacy laws and U.S. Department of Education guidance, including Title IX requirements. In such cases, the department may be unable to provide additional details regarding the incident, involved parties or final outcomes.
