Dr. Shaneeta Johnson

As an expert in global health, robotic minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery, health equity, surgical sustainability, and environmental justice, Dr. Johnson brings with her a wealth of skill that will care for students and patients alike. Having served on advisory panels for the FDA, JCAHO, and legislative committees, she is a sought-after internationally recognized speaker whose expertise will provide deep expertise to students in the School of Global Health.

Dr. Johnson received her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University, medical degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine, surgical training at Howard University Hospital, and a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, and the International College of Surgeons. She is board-certified in both General Surgery and Obesity Medicine.
