Subash Neupane, Ph.D., joined Meharry Medical College as an assistant professor in 2025. His primary research interests lie at the intersection of generative artificial intelligence (Gen-AI), healthcare, and cybersecurity, focusing on developing robust, consistent, and grounded AI systems for high-stakes decision-making. Driven by the vision of AI-enhanced medical diagnostics and dynamically adaptive cybersecurity, his overarching goal is to fundamentally reshape these critical domains through trustworthy AI.
Specifically, his research pursues three key areas:
- Consistency in generative AI, ensuring stable, reliable responses essential for patient care or threat intelligence;
- Advanced methods for context augmentation, developing sophisticated context integration techniques to enhance the depth and relevance of AI-driven insights; and
- Grounded generative AI, creating systems rooted in verifiable knowledge to ensure trustworthiness and mitigate hallucinations in critical applications.
Dr. Neupane received his Ph.D. from Mississippi State University in 2025 where he pursued developing context-aware AI frameworks for improving healthcare communication. His research has been published in leading international journals such as ACM Transactions on Healthcare Computing, IEEE Access, and Frontiers in AI, and presented at top-tier conferences including the AAAI, ACSAC, IEEE Big Data and Foundations & Practice of Security, IEEE CIC, and IEEE CAI.
